TNG Land Earns Multiple EDGE Certifications for TNG Son Cam and Homie City

May 28, 2026 – TNG Land Joint Stock Company (TNG Land), in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, held the “EDGE Certification Plaque Unveiling Ceremony for the TNG Son Cam Administration Building” and the “EDGE Design Certification Award Ceremony for the Homie City Project.” The event was attended by Mr. Benjamin Van der Auwera, Regional Lead for East Asia and the Pacific, EDGE Green Buildings and Building Resilience Index (BRI) Program, International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, along with representatives from relevant organizations and project stakeholders.

The certifications were independently assessed and verified by SGS, an internationally accredited certification body within the global EDGE certification system.

Homie City Achieves EDGE Certification Across Multiple Asset Classes

A notable highlight of the event was that Homie City (legal name: Dai Thang Residential Area) received EDGE Design Certification across all three major product categories within the development: social housing apartments, shophouses, and a mini hotel, rather than for a single standalone component.

The social housing apartment component, comprising 361 units, achieved projected savings of 26% in energy consumption, 27% in water usage, and a 40% reduction in embodied carbon in construction materials compared to a conventional baseline building. The shophouse component, consisting of 57 units, demonstrated 28% energy savings, 35% water savings, and a 37% reduction in embodied carbon. Meanwhile, the mini hotel component delivered particularly impressive results, with 25% energy savings, 29% water savings, and a remarkable 51% reduction in embodied carbon in materials. These achievements reflect TNG Land’s commitment to optimizing resource efficiency and minimizing environmental impact from the earliest stages of project design and development, while advancing sustainable and green building practices in the real estate sector.

EDGE Certifications for Three Key Components at Homie City

TNG Son Cam Administration Building Achieves EDGE Advanced Certification

In addition to Homie City, the TNG Son Cam Administration Building, developed by TNG Land, was officially awarded the EDGE Advanced Certification. This higher-tier certification within the EDGE framework recognizes buildings that demonstrate outstanding performance in energy and water efficiency, as well as the optimization of construction materials. According to the EDGE Advanced assessment, the TNG Son Cam Administration Building is projected to achieve 40% energy savings, 28% water savings, and a 46% reduction in embodied energy in construction materials compared to a conventional building. The project is also expected to reduce operational carbon emissions by approximately 29.58 tonnes of CO₂ annually.

Located within Son Cam Industrial Cluster, Quan Trieu Ward, Thai Nguyen Province, the building incorporates a range of sustainable design and engineering solutions to enhance operational efficiency. These include a high-efficiency VRV cooling system, occupancy sensors in functional areas, a solar power system, water-efficient sanitary fixtures, and various measures to optimize the use of construction materials. The achievement underscores TNG Land’s commitment to integrating sustainability into both industrial and real estate developments, while contributing to the transition toward greener, more resource-efficient buildings in Vietnam.

From Green Buildings to Sustainable Living

EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) is a globally recognized green building certification system currently applied in more than 170 countries. To achieve EDGE certification, a project must demonstrate at least 20% savings in energy, water, and embodied carbon in construction materials compared to a conventional building.

Beyond its technical significance, EDGE certification reflects a broader transformation taking place across the real estate industry—from conventional development toward a more sustainable approach that prioritizes quality of life, operational efficiency, and environmental responsibility.

As energy costs continue to rise and homebuyers place increasing importance on healthy, sustainable living environments, green buildings are becoming a key consideration in real estate decisions.
